The most famous Australian composer my be Percy Grainger, but he isn't the only one to write memorable music. On the Piano this Sunday an introduction to two composers from "Down Under". Dulcie Holland studied in Britain with John Ireland and returned to her native Australia in 1952. Her first music work was composing for films. Her love of the piano and teaching brought about a number of exercise books for students. Miriam Hyde was first trained by her pianist mother, later winning a scholarship to study music in London. Awarded an OBE she is best known for her work advancing music in Australia.
On the Piano this Sunday afternoon at 5 a musical look at the "Land Down Under" with Two Ladies from Australia.
