200 Hundred Years Young

During the recent San Antonio International Piano Competition it seems that many of the contestants played the music of Frederic Chopin. Could it be that his 200th anniversary was coming up in a few months or it is his music the most effective test of a player's total technique? Whatever the reason there is more Chopin on this Sunday's program, the 3rd Scherzo and a blockbuster performance of his b minor Sonata. There is piano high jinx with Ravel's Toccata and a young artist throws caution to the wind in her performance of a late Sonata of Joseph Haydn.

The Piano, this Sunday afternoon at 5 on KPAC and KTXI.

host, Randy Anderson
