It was my job as orchestra manager of the Jacksonville Symphony to drive her to each concert venue several hours before the orchestra arrived so she could practice in a quiet auditorium. On these drives she always sat in the back seat of my car and took a brief nap. She was gracious, charming and despite her age, played wonderfully.
